Kempen/ Putnam, 18th September 2024 – Precision in black: The new onyx range from Dimension-Polyant combines top-quality products with a new and modern look.
The onyx range offers something for every sailor, from performance sailing to cruising, as the most popular laminates and fabrics are being launched in black. Pro Radial, Code Zero, GPL, GPL Light Skin®, and GPL dT (double Taffeta) and DCX will be the first products to launch a black version. Other highlight products such as the popular Hydra Net® radial and Aramid Sport dT will be available soon.
What does onyx mean?
The onyx range combines our proven products, which are now also available in black. In this sense, onyx stands for a collection of features that characterize the individual products. Black, opaque, and elegant – the gemstone looks just like the new products in the range of the same name. The sturdiness of onyx reflects the profile stability and durability of Dimension-Polyant products. For the new range, we rely on our proven Dimension-Polyant’s technologies and knowledge.
Onyx is for all sailors who are looking for something special. The range offers the opportunity to put together a complete sailing wardrobe with high-quality uniform and color-coordinated sails.
Less water and chemicals for black products
Dimension-Polyant focuses on sustainability during production. While conventional products are expensively dyed afterwards, the dye in onyx products is added before the spinning process, resulting in up to 75% water savings. The chemicals used for the dyeing process are even reduced up to 90% compared to subsequent dyeing. Neither water nor dye is subsequently used in the production of the fabrics.
In addition, these solution-dyed fabrics have increased UV resistance, which has a positive effect on durability. That’s the best way to have a positive impact on the environment for sailors.
